Why Volunteer?

Fire and emergency services is one of the most diverse and challenging fields today. One thing is guaranteed in this field — no two days are alike. Becoming a volunteer is not for everyone. Volunteers must be courageous, generous, hard working and dedicated. They face challenges not experienced by average citizens. They sacrifice their time to attend training, maintain equipment and respond to emergencies. Their work is both mentally and physically challenging. But yet, these volunteers thrive in what are often hazardous environments, taking charge and making a difference in the lives of others.

Volunteering can be an exciting and rewarding way to help your friends and neighbors. Few people have the opportunity to save a life. Few will ever experience the exhilarating feeling gained through the realization that their actions have profoundly and positively affected the lives of a friend or neighbor. Giving back to your community by helping a neighbor, saving a life…there is no work more noble, no personal accomplishment more satisfying. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please consider filling out our online application or contact your local fire or rescue department.
